Next Level Custom Rides is building a original Batmobile Replica (our inspiration is pictured above). We are still in the early phases of the project, but stop by often to see updated pics of the progress.

The car is being built for a customer who will be showing it at events around the state. You might even see it at the Warwick mall in R.I.

This replica started life as a fiberglass replica 2 seat 56 T-Bird sitting on a VW Bug frame. The whole car, chassis and all was stretched 14 inches to match the batmobiles wheelbase. The entire car was framed out with wood and a steel rod skeleton by a good friend who is also a top-notch carpenter.

Some pieces were bought from outside sources. After 3 to 4 layers of fiberglass mat and 10 gallons of resins the car is sanded down and the body filler starts to get laid on to carve the desired shape. We figure about 10 gallons of body filler and hundreds upon hundreds of man hours to just get the car into shape for primer.

The pyramid of resin & body filler cans continues to grow to 35 high. We have made considerable progress on the body and the front & rear windshields are in.

It's June and the Batmobile is being prepped for finally delivery on Monday morning. It's been a long time coming, but the results make it well worth the effort.
